Where are you from?
Ohio but I’ve lived in Prague since 2003.
Why Prague?
Prague chose me. I moved here for what I thought would be a year or two and she just wouldn’t let me leave her beautiful streets.
How long had you been teaching English as a Foreign Language (EFL) before becoming a TEFL trainer?
I taught EFL for 8 years before becoming a TEFL trainer but I had experience training teachers before TEFL.
What made you want to become a TEFL trainer?
I love teaching and sharing that passion with others is important to me.
What do you enjoy most about teaching TEFL students?
Seeing the progress that happens in just four short weeks. It’s so exciting to start from the beginning and see new teachers grow into their own styles and apply the knowledge they’ve gained.
What do you like most about teaching at TEFL Worldwide Prague?
So many things:
1. My colleagues are fun and intelligent and talented. All the staff at the school are helpful and supportive.
2. The location. Namesti Miru is beautiful with lots of great cafes and restaurants tucked away waiting to be found.
3. The resources for teachers are varied, modern, and readily-available, good for planning lessons.
Do you still teach EFL?
Absolutely! I love teaching. I love the connections to my own students. And I need to practice what I’m preaching during my TEFL sessions.
