Key Info About TEFL Worldwide
Spěváček Language School
TEFL Worldwide is part of a large language school in the Czech Republic
Spěváček is the third largest language school in the Czech Republic. We are based mainly in Prague with classrooms located all around the city. We teach predominantly English but teach many other languages as well (Spanish, German, French, Czech, Russian and Japanese, to name just a few). We offer courses for adults, teenagers and children; group courses and individual course; General English, Business English and English for Specific Purposes.
We currently have about 340 teachers from around the world teaching either full time or part time with us. Our school continues to grow, so we usually need to hire new teachers every month.
One of the reasons we started a TEFL course was to establish a steady stream of new teachers who were trained to our high standards. The course acts as a thorough interview process which means we can hire graduates with confidence on their completion of the course. Many of the TEFL course graduates get a job offer from the school straight after the course finishes. During the course you will have access to the school’s resources and have the opportunity to meet some of the school’s teachers.
Internationally Recognised & Accredited
TEFL Worldwide was awarded as the top TEFL certification program in 2018 and 2019
The TEFL Worldwide course is accredited and moderated by IATQuO (The International Accreditation of TESOL Qualifying Organizations) and the Czech Ministry of Education. We are inspected regularly to make sure we are maintaining high standards and that out trainees are gaining enough knowledge and experience during the course.
On top of this, we have been recognized internationally for our quality with many awards, including Top TEFL Certification Program from GoAbroad in 2018 and 2019 as well as Community Choice Award for Best Teach Provider from GoOverseas in 2019 and 2020. All this together means that whereever you want to teach in the world, prospective employers will know that your TEFL training meets a high standard.
We have a dedicated team here to support you before, during and after the course
Our four main trainers (Neil, Tasci, Tereza and Kristof) are here to prepare you for your teaching career. During their practical input sessions they will draw on their years of experience to introduce you to the methodology, techniques and knowledge you will need to teach successful and engaging lessons.
- Master's Degree in Applied Linguistics, Ohio University
Language teacher since: 2003
Foreign experience: USA, Czech Republic
Tasci has been teaching in the Czech Republic for over a decade. She has taught general business English, soft skills, English for specialized subjects and even a few children's courses. She has helped develop intensive courses and course material for multiple levels of students.
Tasci, who comes from a small town in Ohio originally, has lived and worked in Prague since 2003. She studied Linguistics at Ohio University. She has worked in a variety of teaching environments in Prague and has a strong grasp on what her students need to make them successful communicators. At TEFL Worldwide, she teaches the Grammar module and does observations. Helping students and trainees find the “lightbulb” moment when the concept clicks is the most satisfying part of teaching for her.
- Diploma in TESOL from Alba School of English in Edinburgh
Language teacher since: 2013
Foreign experience: Czech Republic, Spain, Italy, Scotland
Tereza is a native Czech speaker and as such has undergone the process of mastering English herself, so she can offer the point of view of the learner. She has taught general English, exam preparation for both Cambridge and Trinity examinations, English for specialised purposes and in summers enjoys working with kids in summer camps.
Tereza, a Prague local, discovered her passion for the English language while living in Spain. Delving into the structures and methodology, she realised she was very keen to pass on this knowledge and enjoys helping other teachers, be it ones just starting or ones who want to better themselves. She has passed the dipTESOL and now is fully devoted to training new teachers. At TEFL Worldwide she teaches the Methodology module, helps with planning and observes teaching practice sessions. She is a firm believer in the fact that as long as the students are communicating (or trying to) they are learning, and she tries to make this clear in both her English classes and in TEFL sessions.
Master's Degree in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages), Saint Michael's College, Vermont USA
Language teacher since: 2015
Foreign experience: USA, Czech Republic, Slovakia
Melody began her teaching journey in 2015 at a high school in Košice, Slovakia. She has taught a variety of courses, including an intensive course for Japanese college students studying abroad in the USA. She has also taught over 600 Chinese children online.
Melody loves bringing creativity into the English language classroom as well as encouraging students to experience English beyond the classroom. A recent excursion with an adult class included trying out some (legal) graffiti in Prague after a lesson on Graffiti in Art Galleries and Street Art . She is passionate about inclusivity in the English language classroom; she and her students regularly conduct virtual interviews of English speakers from around the world. At TEFL Worldwide, Melody teaches the Lesson Planning module and conducts observations. She loves helping teachers craft engaging lesson plans and helping teachers feel supported in their teaching journey.
