We ask one of our current trainees, Lucy, a few questions about her experience during the course.
Where are you from and why did you choose the Czech Republic?
I am from Bromley in london. I have lived in Brighton for the last three years when studying primary school teaching. I chose to come to the Czech republic because I have heard really nice things about it from my traveller friends and I wanted to be in the heart of Europe during the summer.
What do you think of Prague?
I have really liked Prague so far, the public transport is very easy to use and its is very pretty. I really like the Jewish quarter and everyone is very friendly.
How are you finding the course so far?
The course is tough, but I feel it really prepares you for teaching in the real world. It is very practical and you get lots of support. The materials and essays you have to write help you to feel more confident in your knowledge.
What has surprised you so far (either course related or Prague related)?
I am really surprised by how accessible prague is. I thought London had a good transport system but I think Prague is better. It is so easy to get anywhere you want and even if you dont like public transport, the city is very walkable.
What are your plans for after the course?
After the course, I am going to be travelling Eastern europe for a month (Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Serbia, Bosnia, Montenegro and Albania). Then I am going to return to university in the UK (univeristy of sussex) to study MA international education and development. This course has been very helpful in preparing me for that.
