We asked one of our trainees, Tereza, a few questions about hr experience during the course so far.
Where are you from and why did you choose the Czech Republic?
I was born in Czech Republic and grew up in a small village in a rural area. I came to Prague to study at the university. Many big things in my life happened in Prague: I finished my studies, I met my partner in Prague, where we had our wedding and our children were also born in Prague.
What do you think of Prague?
Prague became my home over the years. It really is my city now! Sometimes I forget and I have to remind myself again what a beautiful city it is! How privileged I am to live in a place where so many tourists come just to spend a few moments in their life. A cultural, green, safe city, with such rich history and an excellent public transport!
How are you finding the course so far?
I am enjoying the TEFL course! I am an outgoing person, I have always been a good communicator and I am passionate about English. All this I can use as a teacher. I feel how I am growing every day. There is a unique TEFL group, everyone is different, everyone is special and everyone is a big inspiration! Oh, I must not forget the trainers. They are being very supportive, helpful, friendly but still very professional.
What has surprised you so far (either course related or Prague related)?
What a good formula the course has. How structured it is and the way it takes you step by step throw the journey to become a TEFL teacher. I can see my progress every day. A nice surprise for me is to see how well is the course designed for newly coming foreigners. With support how to settle in a new city, how to socialise, etc. Surprisingly as a part of the course I had my first ever Czech lessons for foreigners. I really enjoyed it!
What are your plans for after the course?
The TEFL course is an opportunity to gain a new qualification and to enlarge my skills. Maybe I will teach part time as a combination with other work. Maybe I will enjoy it and will end up just teaching. I am open to everything. And one day, who knows, I might move abroad and teach English anywhere in the world!
