We ask one of our current trainees, Mikaël, a few questions about his experience during the course.
Where are you from and why did you choose the Czech Republic?
I’m from Québec, Canada and I chose the Czech Republic because of my partner. I refused to spend more time away from him than I needed to, so I looked for a way to get over here quickly and efficiently.
How are you finding the course so far?
We both agreed we love Prague and want to live here, and having previous experience in teaching with virtually no training, this course seemed like an obvious choice for me. I’ve been loving it so much so far, my colleagues are great, our teachers are amazing, the atmosphere in class is so comfortable and although this is an intensive course that takes a lot of energy, we learn so much and leave class with a sense of accomplishment each day.
What has surprised you so far (either course related or Prague related)?
I think the most surprising thing to me has been snow! I’d been told it wasn’t very common here, but of course, coming from Québec, this just reminds me of home. It was lovely to wake up to.
What are your plans for after the course?
I look forward to teaching English, I truly found a passion here and from my perspective, this course is intended to help me become a better teacher for my future students. I can’t wait to get back out there with improved knowledge and skills, and I hope to inspire my future students with at least some of the passion I feel for English.
