In our January Course, we currently have a group of friends taking the course together. We asked one of them, Asia, a few questions about her, and their, experience during the course so far.
Where are you from and why did you choose the Czech Republic?
My name is Asia and I am so grateful to be taking the TEFL course with my two closest friends! The three of us met in New York City and most recently we lived in Syracuse, New York. Each of us were unsure about the next step in our careers, but we were confident in our interests in traveling and finding new professions that focused on creativity and human connection. TEFL Worldwide Prague is a highly-rated program that gives us the opportunity to pursue these interests while staying in what has quickly become our favorite city.
What do you think of Prague?
Prague is a fairytale. Our introduction to the city was just one week before starting the TEFL course, and we were immediately stunned by the beautiful architecture, kind strangers, and rich culture. There is no short supply of museums, cafes, theatres, and monuments. As a history lover myself, I was amazed by how well over 1,000 years of history has been preserved!
How are you finding the course so far?
Each of us began this course with very different backgrounds, but collectively we have very little teaching experience that compares to the style of a TEFL educator. This course has brought us out of our comfort zones in new and surprising ways, and significantly changed how we approach teaching.
What has surprised you so far (either course related or Prague related)?
We decided on TEFL Worldwide Prague because of its focus on interactive learning and real-world practice, earning it consistent high ratings and student reviews. Even so, our biggest surprise was the quality of the course and our enjoyment of the program. We were fortunate to be placed with trainers who have taught us how to maintain personality and authenticity in the classroom, guiding us towards future success in a student-focused learning environment. TEFL has reminded us why we’ve chosen to become teachers in the first place!
What are your plans for after the course?
After falling in love with teaching and the city of Prague itself, our trio plans to stick together and pursue teaching in the Czech Republic. We may not know exactly what our next step is, but the TEFL program has given us the perfect tool set for finding fulfilling careers and success in our new favorite city!
