With the new year already in full swing, we want you to know who to expect to meet when you join our TEFL Certification Course here in Prague! Read below to meet our team for 2025.

Tasci: Assistant Directer – Head Trainer
April: Assistant Director – Trainer
Nick: Head Observer
Trisha: Trainer
Jordan: Trainer
How long have you been teaching English?
Tasci: I’ve been teaching since 2003. I’ve taught a wide range of levels, ages, and topics.
April: I’ve been an EFL teacher for 13 years, and in 5 countries with my students spanning from all ages and levels.
Nick: I have been teaching for 4 years. Teenagers, adults, exam prep, business and conversation.
Trisha: 22+ years of international teaching and teacher leadership experience in 7 different countries, much of which is around secondary students.
Jordan: I have subbed K-12 for two years, taught the 3rd grade for one year, and have been teaching freelance online and at SPĚVÁČEK for almost two years.
What is your favorite lesson to teach?
Tasci: I like teaching Business English one-to-one with students in their own office because I often learn about a new industry while teaching them.
April: Anything topical: holiday lessons in December, Travel lessons in the summer, etc.
Nick: Any kind of speaking lesson.
Trisha: Any lesson where a Learner has an “aha” moment, be it grammar, literature, drama…anything!
Jordan: My favorite lessons to teach are writing and swear words.
What is the best advice for new teachers?
Tasci: Ask for advice. There are so many wonderful teachers who have a wealth of knowledge. Asking questions can be the difference between struggle and breakthrough.
April: Don’t forget to have fun in the classroom! ALL students like to have fun!
Nick: Don’t be afraid of making mistakes. Students understand that teachers are human too.
Trisha: Even after 22 years, teaching the “perfect” lesson is an illusion, but each one does get better and easier. The best advice I have is to find the small pieces of joy, even in those tough days, and find a way to make tomorrow’s lesson just a bit better. With that mindset, you’ll be a master teacher in no time!
Jordan: Listen to your students.
Where can we find you on the weekend?
Tasci: At my cottage in Vrchlabi hiking around the mountains with my adventure dog Tony.
April: Probably planning a trip!
Nick: Doing something musical! Either performing in one of the 4 bands I’ve found myself in or at concerts. Or enjoying a pilsner….
Trisha: Out in the countryside at my little Czech cottage/tiny house working on some home improvement projects or taking a walk through the gorgeous forests.
Jordan: On the weekend, you can find me working on music projects, watching classic Czech films, and losing at Catan.
Join an upcoming TEFL course where in just 4 weeks you can be teaching English abroad.
