How do you think the program prepared you for your lessons?
The program definitely prepared me, as much as a one month accelerated course can. Teaching in real life is a little different but I rely on stuff I learned in TEFL all of the time, and I’m very glad I had the course to launch me into this career.
Why did you decide to accept the Full Time Job Offer?
Moving to Prague was a new adventure, and I wanted to find a TEFL program with a job guarantee (or something that would at least prepare me to find a job). When I saw the job guarantee with the refund, it was a no brainer. I figured worst case scenario, I don’t like the job and still have the TEFL certificate and can go work elsewhere. Or best case, I enjoy the job and get my money refunded AND a new job out of it. Luckily for me, the latter was the case. Spěváček has been a great place to start my teaching career.
How have you grown since the course, and how do you hope to continue to grow?
That’s a big one, but I Iike to think I’ve grown as a teacher and a person. As someone in her early 30s who has already invested a lot into one career, I was nervous about embarking on a new one. I wasn’t sure if it was right for me, or whether I’d do it long term. While I don’t know what the future holds, I am really enjoying being a teacher so far and grateful to TEFL Worldwide and Spěváček for helping me launch this journey. I hope that I will continue to grow more confident in my abilities, inspire my students, and continually strive to do better. ☺
