Here at TEFL Worldwide Prague, TEFL isn’t JUST a 4-week course. For us, it goes far beyond the course – it’s a community.
While we wish we could regularly see those alumni who have continued their adventure elsewhere, we want to make sure those that are still in Prague know we’re here for you. Therefore, we’ve put together Beyond TEFL, a community for alumni, by alumni.
By Alumni, For Alumni: what does that mean, and more importantly, what does that look like?
- Alumni Insights: you’ve already seen the blog posts. This is information that our alumni (in Prague AND worldwide) want to share with other alumni, and even our future alumni (that’s you!). Already our alumni have shared their experiences with “Reversed Seasons“, “New Beginnings and Reflections“, “Small Things to Make Life in Prague Easier for Newcomers“, and finding “Belonging in an Unexpected Place“. Keep the blog space saved for more insights from Alumni, or contact us to learn how to share your insights!
- Alumni Meet & Greet: we want our soon-to-be-graduates to get excited about the community they’re about to join, so during the course we create opportunities to mingle! Our most favored event is the Alumni Meet & Greet: where we invite alumni to meet the current course at a local hospoda (pub) to get to know each other informally, and offer their first-hand experience of what life is like Beyond TEFL.
- Meet-ups: our alumni are our family. And of COURSE, families hang out and spend time together. We do the same! We put together events of all kinds for everyone to socialize Beyond TEFL. Imagine Sporting Events, Holiday Gatherings, Live Music Gigs (2 of our trainers are in bands!), Movie Nights, Park Picnics, and more. We love to see our Alumni meet up and create memories throughout the year.
- Workshops (professional AND social): there’s more than just what you learn witin the walls of the TEFL classroom, or in your own classroom. We’ve started hosting events that feature our alumni. A chance for alumni to learn something new, or to share their own passion. Our 1st event of 2026 was our very own 5-Minute University. Stay tuned to our blog to learn about the success of the 5-Minute University, our upcoming events, or email us with an idea of your own for our Beyond TEFL workshops.
You too can be part of Beyond TEFL: but first, you’ll have to join a TEFL course and get certified!
