Why did you choose Prague? What did you know about Prague before coming here?

I have always studied English. When I was preparing for the CAE, I had a teacher who did her TEFL course here, at TEFL Worldwide and one day we were talking about teaching and she suggested to have a look at the course and the school. So, I arrived home, I switched on my computer and started looking for information about TEFL and TEFL Worldwide Prague. A week after that I applied for a spot on their July course, as I was working in Spain as an English teacher until June. I chose Prague because of TEFL Worldwide Prague but once I saw pictures of the city and after looking for some information, I realised I really wanted to come here.

Did your expectations from the course differ from the actual reality of it? Did you think it would be easier or harder?

Before the course, I was reviewing the English grammar and I was aware that the course would be intense, I was excited for starting the different modules and teaching practices. After the first day, I remember having the feeling of having learned a lot in those few hours. By the time that the second day was finished I realised how much work and effort were necessary to do this course. When they say it is an intense course, trust me, it’s even more than what you can expect. I remember a lot of nights of lesson planning and studying for the exams. During the third week of the course I didn’t sleep much because for me it was the hardest but it was worth it. The result after the course; the improvements I had made were much more than I could have ever expected from a 4-week course. When I received my certificate I was extremely happy and I realised that every single second was worth it.

In what aspect did your life change the most?

My life has changed 100%. I moved to Prague right after the course because I got a job as a Spanish and English teacher. Moving away from home is always a huge step in one’s life and I don’t regret at all having chosen Prague for this experience. I have learnt so many things since I moved, and I have found amazing friends with whom I can share this experience. Prague is the place to be and everybody should know it!
