One of the first things I researched when moving here was what workout classes I could find in English. I loved my boxing, cycling, and hot yoga spots in NYC and wanted to find that piece of home here. After years of trying different places, here are my top recommendations for English-language workout classes in Prague.
Revolution Ride
Revolution Ride is the closest you will get in Prague to cycling studios back in the States (think SoulCycle). The instructors are energetic and encouraging, and all of the classes are in English. Each class entry includes a towel and water bottle for the workout (though I suggest bringing your own to reduce plastic waste!) and access to changing rooms stocked with Rituals products, fancy blow-dryers, and unlimited towels. This place has become a second home for me. I love going to the morning classes and showering and changing there before heading to teach my English lessons.
Next Move
Next Move is a traditional fancy gym. Their monthly memberships are amongst the most expensive in Prague, but few people know they offer 10-entry packs that last 6 months for a much more reasonable rate. In my opinion, they offer the most English-speaking-friendly hot yoga classes I have found. They also have great boxing classes open to those of all levels and many other classes like Les Mis and Next Move Booty. If you are looking to incorporate a variety of fitness classes into your schedule, their class package might be a good option for you.
Prague Yoga Collective
While I have realized that I can reasonably enjoy classes in Czech for other forms of exercise, like boxing, I have found it quite difficult to reap the full benefits of yoga when I am constantly surveying those around me to follow the poses because I can’t understand the instructors’ instructions. Thus, the comfort of an English-speaking yoga studio cannot be overstated. Prague Yoga Collective is a welcoming, cozy yoga studio with locations across Prague. They offer a wide variety of yoga courses; I particularly love the Aroma Yoga class. Try out their 30 days of unlimited classes for 950 CZK!
Form Factory (Honorable Mention)
Form Factory has so many locations across Prague. They are not as nice as Next Move, but they are also not as expensive. They offer a wide range of classes (special shoutout to Jumping & Women’s Boxing); however, English accessibility is HIGHLY dependent on the instructor. Unlike Next Move, they are not marketed towards English speakers, so if you find English in a class, it is a bonus.
