School midterms have passed, and it offers a valuable opportunity to reflect on the previous semester. What went well, what went right, and what still needs improvement. As a teacher, I like to use this time to pause, reflect, refresh my mind, and reconnect with my goals and plans.
I believe this practice is essential because it allows us to recognize our achievements while also giving us space to adjust our goals when necessary. It is also a moment to give ourselves credit for completing an entire term. Teaching is a deeply rewarding profession, but it can also be demanding and overwhelming. For this reason, I strongly believe in the importance of intentional pauses.
This year, I chose one guiding word: wellbeing. By this, I mean listening more carefully to my body and my energy levels. When I feel my energy dropping, I no longer ignore it. Instead, I make time to do something to recharge. Taking care of ourselves benefits our students as well. They deserve a teacher who is attentive to both mental and physical health.

This is a reminder to every teacher who may be reading these lines:
Take Care of Yourself
Make time for small pauses during the day,
reflect on the past term,
and reset your goals when needed.
New beginnings start with reflection and self-care.
