Our August 2026 course just graduated, and before they departed for the last time, we asked them what advice they would give to the next course.
Here’s some of what they said:
- relax
- give yourself enough time to learn
- take advantage of the practical experience the course provides
- stay calm, focused and work hard
- do not be afraid to experiment and try new things
- use the unique opportunity to get feedback from an experienced observer
- enjoy the process
- organize your time well
- be hungry for feedback
- prepare adequately
- put your own spin on the lessons
- make some friends during your time on the course.
- plan carefully, but remain flexible
- observe other teachers critically, focusing not only on what works but also on why it works
- reflect after every lesson.
- take the courseone step at a time
- ask for help from your trainers
- bounce ideas off of peers
- not to let stress wholly shape your experience; the experience is what you make it
- to let yourselves not know everything
- be good to yourselves.
- prepare enough time and energy because the course is intensive
- build relationships with your classmates
