TEFL Course Enrolment Requirements

18 years old

You must be at least 18 years old by the course start date.

High Level of English

You need to be a native speaker or have a C1 level of English

Higher Education

A university degree is not a must but may be an advantage

Interested in Teaching

A desire to teach and help others is an important factor.

Typically, the trainees on our TEFL certificate course are individuals who enjoy working with people from different backgrounds and cultures and who want to make a difference by teaching English. Such individuals include:

  • Professionals who are looking for a change in their career or life
  • Recent college graduates who want to gain international experience and travel abroad before settling into their career
  • Tradesmen and women who want a totally new experience
  • Retirees interested in teaching part-time or full-time during their retirement years.
No University Degree? No Problem!

You do not need a Bachelor’s degree to take the TEFL certificate course, but please note that in some countries you will need a degree. It varies from country to country and employer to employer so contact us for more information. 

Non-native English Speakers

If you are a non-native English speaker, you can certainly apply to the course and teach English abroad. Dozens of non-native speakers have taken our course and have gone on to teach abroad. For example, they’ve taught in the Czech Republic, parts of Asia, Latin America, parts of the EU, or their home country. We’ll do the best to assist you in finding a job and look forward to welcoming you.

Demographics of Trainees

Our TEFL certificate courses include individuals of all ages, backgrounds and nationalities. The average age is between 22 and 35 but on almost every course we have people between the ages of 36 and 70+, as well as from 18-21! The TEFL Worldwide trainees are mostly from the US, UK, Ireland, Canada, Australia, South Africa, and New Zealand. We’ve also had students from Singapore, Colombia, Romania, France, Bulgaria, Hungary, Germany, Belgium, Norway, Finland, Malaysia, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Poland, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Austria, Lebanon, Israel, Yemen, Zambia, and Botswana.
