TEFL Course Enrollment Requirements :
- Be at least 18
Be a native English speaker, or a non-native, with a high proficiency in English
Have the minimum qualification necessary to enter university. (i.e. High School Diploma, A-Level). GCSE Levels are acceptable, but you must be prepared for an intensive university level course.
Ideally, be able to enter the Czech Republic on your passport as a tourist, without having to obtain a Visa. If you need a visa to enter the Schengen Zone, we’ll need proof that you have this, before you can reserve a place on the course and in the housing.
Typically, the trainees on our TEFL certificate course are individuals who enjoy working with people from different backgrounds and cultures and who want to make a difference by teaching English. Such individuals include:
- Professionals who are looking for a change in their career or life
- Recent college graduates who want to gain international experience and travel abroad before settling into their career
- Tradesmen and women who want a totally new experience
- Retirees interested in teaching part-time or full-time during their retirement years.
You do not need a Bachelor’s degree to take the TEFL certificate course, but please note that in some countries you will need a degree. It varies from country to country and employer to employer so contact us for more information. Read more on teaching English abroad without a degree.
EU citizens looking to work in the EU do not need a degree.
If you are a non-native English speaker, you can certainly apply to the course and teach English abroad. Dozens of non-native speakers have taken our course and have gone on to teach abroad. For example, they’ve taught in the Czech Republic, parts of Asia, Latin America, parts of the EU, or their home country. Demographics of Trainees
Our TEFL certificate courses include individuals of all ages, backgrounds and nationalities. The average age is between 22 and 35 but on almost every course we have people between the ages of 36 and 70+, as well as from 18-21! The TEFL Worldwide trainees are mostly from the US, UK, Ireland, Canada, Australia, South Africa, and New Zealand. We’ve also had students from Singapore, Colombia, Romania, France, Bulgaria, Hungary, Germany, Belgium, Norway, Finland, Malaysia, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Poland, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Austria, Lebanon, Israel, Yemen, Zambia, and Botswana.
