Ideally be able to enter the Czech Republic on your passport as a tourist without having to obtain a Visa, such as citizens from the US, UK, EU, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, and parts of South America. If you need a visa to enter the Schengen Zone we’ll need proof that you have this before you can reserve a place on the course and in the housing.
Typically the trainees on our TEFL course are individuals who enjoy working with people from different backgrounds and cultures and who want to make a difference by teaching English. Such individuals include professionals who are looking for a change in their career or life, recent college graduates who want to gain international experience and travel abroad before settling into their career, tradesmen and women who want a totally new experience and individuals who would like to spend their retirement years teaching English abroad.
You do not need a Bachelor’s degree to take the TEFL training course but please note that in some countries you will need a degree. It varies from country to country and employer to employer so contact us for more information.
EU citizens looking to work in the EU do not always need a degree as it isn’t necessary to apply for a working visa (which is when the degree is usually required in some countries.)
Non-native English speakers
If you are a non-native English speaker you can certainly apply to the course and teach English abroad. Dozens of non-native speakers have taken our course and have gone on to teach abroad, mostly in Prague, parts of Asia, Latin America, the EU (if an EU citizens) or their home country. Graduates from the EU have gone on to teach in other EU countries. It may be a bit more challenging to find a job as many employers prefer to hire native English speakers so you need to allow some more time to find a job. We’ll do the best to assist you in finding a job and look forward to welcoming you.
